September 21-Reimbursements Open
As we get closer to the start of school we want to help ensure you and your high school student feel prepared for that first day! This simple checklist can help you feel confident and ready to begin the year strong.
If you are new to Braintree we encourage you to go through our Parent Orientation first, which walks you through setting up your student for success in a home based learning environment. Log into the Parent portal and click here to walk through Parent Orientation. (Please note the parent orientation is for all K12 parents so some information may be more specific to K8 families.)
High School Checklist:
Finalize class schedule
If you have a new or returning student and have not chosen your classes for the 26-27 school year, please reach out to highschool+OK@braintreeed.com so our student support team can assist you in creating a schedule for the fall and spring semesters.
Do you have the necessary resources for your student to succeed in their high school classes?
Working laptop or desktop computer
Interested in participating in a live class? Live classes are optional and can be selected in Sign-up Central on the Braintree website. Live classes do not replace the Anchor class, but act as the curriculum students use to help complete Anchor assignments and provide additional instruction. Students will still be responsible to upload all assignments to their Anchor teacher.
English-most of our English classes require students to read certain books each semester. Please look at our course catalog and make sure you have selected which books you would like to read and get them ordered soon.
Math curriculum- our math classes have approved curriculums that we ask students to choose from. For Algebra, Geometry and Algebra II, Khan Academy is a free math curriculum you can use in each of these classes. ALEK Math and CTC Math are the two most popular math curriculum options and those are available for purchase as an opt-in resource. Opt-in Resources can be found on the Braintree4me Fund Hub. If those are requested within the next two weeks, licenses will be sent out the first week of August.
Clubs & Extracurricular
Elective Clubs are open and available in Sign-up Central! These are once a week live, virtual meetings! Although many of the clubs focus on younger ages, there are plenty for our high school students! Art, photography, crochet, cooking, and more! These often fill quickly so check Sign-up Central now if you are interested.
Esports: You can view this presentation to learn more. https://canva.link/iwwintj5g346wn1 We offer an eSports team opportunity for all high school students! No team or participation fees are required, although students must have access to the game and equipment. We offer Valorant and Rocket League as competitive games. Please complete this form if you are interested! https://forms.gle/ABHFBUL36ZrKB67M7
Information on how to access Buzz (which is replacing Schoology) and Student orientation will be shared in the next week or so. More questions? Please join the High school Office hours listed at the top, or email our High school team! highschool+OK@braintreed.com
